Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. New Update!
we have more prizes now thanks to the lovely =Scotston now offering discounts on equine commissions - check out their gallery too, they\'re crazily talented =)

I'm hopefully going to post a journal tomorrow with a breakdown of who is coming/might be coming.

Also just a request that if you\'re allergic to anything that is usually found in cakes or are worried about anything like that, please can you bring your own cake/cupcakes just do you don\'t miss out on the festivities! =)

UPDATE: Firstly can everyone who is coming to the meet please note me or ~SafetyInNumbness with your name and a mobile number incase you get lost or delayed etc. All notes will get a reply with my mobile number so you can call if you\'re going to be late and want us to wait for you.

Also due to a very cool idea from Miss `Mollinda we shall be having an \'art trade\' on the day - abit like a secret santa - everyone will be exchanging these at random, so get a print or a piece of artwork (no bigger than 6\" on the longest side) and stick it in an evelope if you\'re interested in swapping it for some cool artwork =)

And most importantly I did ask if anyone would be interested in donating prizes for the hunt - Points, artwork, subscriptions, devwear or even like book vouchers - Preferably 5 of anything or multiples of 5 so they can be split between the winning teams.

well I expect you to be there for a few reasons

1) shyness is no excuse ;P
2) there will be tons of people turning up who know no-one else and are wanting to meet amazing people just like YOU =)
3) quite a few others have already said they're worried cause they're shy - so i'll say the same thing as I told them. if you make sure you come pull me to one side when you get to piccadilly gardens, I'll make sure to look out for you during the day and i'll make sure you're happy in your team - the teams will be 5 people which will give you a great chance to make a few friends ready for the rest of the day ^_^
4) us fellow dA folk aren't that scary in real life ;) hehe
